Charles Flickinger began his own custom glass bending business in 1985 in a loft in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and it has since grown to inhabit a 7,000 square foot warehouse space on New York Harbor in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
His early career as a stained glass designer and craftsman led to an apprenticeship with Maurice Heaton, one of history’s most influential tableware designers, whose works are featured in the Museum of Art and Design and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Charles and his team of artists, designers, and apprentices now hand-produce tableware for individuals and businesses in New York and across the country. The various Flickinger Tableware lines can be modified to create a unique set of custom-made tableware for designers and others.
